Thalia Grace is a daughter of Zeus who is afraid of heights. Sit with that for a second, because it says a lot about her. The fear is real, she hates that it is real, and she makes Percy swear not to tell anyone. Pride first, vulnerability never.
She grew up fast. Her mother, an actress, came apart, her baby brother vanished, and she ran. On the road she teamed up with Luke and then Annabeth, and she held off a pack of monsters on Half-Blood Hill so her friends could reach camp. Zeus turned her into a pine tree before she could die. That is the protector instinct of type 8 in its purest form: stand in front of everyone, take the hit, never look weak. Eights hate being controlled, and they hate being exposed even more.
Her type is ESTP. She lives in the moment and acts fast, backed by a cool, practical logic. At Westover Hall she bends the Mist to fool a teacher. In capture the flag against the Hunters, she loses her temper with Percy for leaving his post and shocks him. Diplomacy is not her first tool. Electricity is. Even her shield, a copy of her father’s Aegis, wins fights by scaring people.
The Golden Fleece brings her back to life in The Sea of Monsters, and in The Titan’s Curse Luke offers her a place at his side on Mount Othrys. She refuses and knocks him off the mountain. Then she makes the most strategic move in that book. She joins the Hunters of Artemis as lieutenant, freezing her age just before sixteen and stepping out of the Great Prophecy for good. Freedom, on her own terms.
The case for ESTJ is that she likes giving orders and gets furious when Percy ignores them. But her orders are improvised, not procedural, and she drops a plan the second a better fight appears. The Disney+ series reworks her backstory: there, Zeus turns her into a tree after she refuses to become his weapon. Tamara Smart plays her, and the show’s version of the Fleece revival comes with lightning powerful enough to drive off Luke’s forces.
Strengths

In relationships
Thalia gives orders and expects them followed. That makes her a great big sister and a terrible co-captain, as Percy learns in a capture the flag game that ends with a jolt of electricity. She cared deeply about Luke, and turning him down on Mount Othrys was one of the hardest calls she ever made.
She clicks with people who stand their ground without trying to control her. Annabeth, the seven-year-old she protected on the road, grows into her equal. Percy irritates her mostly because he is so much like her, another child of the Big Three who will not back down. Grover is the satyr who found her, Luke and Annabeth and tried to get all of them home.
