There is a tiny moment in Endgame where Thor, out of shape and grieving, stands in Asgard in 2013 and holds out his hand. Mjolnir flies to him, and he shouts that he is still worthy. That sentence is the key to the whole character. Thor spends eight years of films asking one question: am I good enough?
That is a Three question. Threes tie their value to success and to how others see them, and Thor’s first film opens with him craving his coronation and the cheers of Asgard. When Odin strips his power and drops him on Earth, the point is more than punishment.
Thor has to learn that worth is not the same as winning. He earns the hammer back by offering his life to the Destroyer to save a small New Mexico town. His Two wing is the warm, people-pleasing side, the guy who hugs everyone and calls them friend within a minute.
In MBTI terms he is an ESTP, direct, physical and alive in the moment. He walks into a diner, loves the coffee, smashes the mug on the floor and asks for another. His thinking rarely gets credit, but it is there: in Ragnarok he talks Valkyrie and Banner into an escape off Sakaar and works out that Ragnarok itself is the only thing big enough to stop Hela.
The blind spot is the long game. Loki fools him again and again, and in Infinity War he drives Stormbreaker into Thanos’s chest instead of his head, and the snap happens anyway.
That mistake breaks him. Five years later he is in New Asgard with Korg, playing video games and drinking, the clearest picture of a Three who failed in front of everyone. Then his mother, Frigga, reminds him that failing to be who you are supposed to be is different from failing to be who you are. He hands New Asgard to Valkyrie and leaves to find himself with the Guardians.
You could argue ESFP, since Thor is so warm and so emotional. It is close. Still, his decisions are quick, practical calls, and he deals with feelings by doing something about them instead of sitting with them.

- Ties his self-worth to winning
- Misses the long con, every time
- Hides grief behind bravado until it collapses
In relationships
Forgiveness comes easily to Thor, and Loki has tested it more times than anyone can count. He treats Banner like a long-lost teammate on Sakaar, and cheerfully renames the Guardians the Asgardians of the Galaxy the moment he joins them. Love from Thor is loyalty plus a hug that lifts you off the ground.
Conflict with him is loud and short. He shouts, throws something, then apologizes with a speech. He needs people who can puncture his ego without wounding it: Loki Laufeyson, his brother and favorite headache, Bruce Banner, his friend from work, and Peter Quill, the rival he secretly enjoys.
