Here is the uncomfortable part about Luke Castellan: he is right about the problem.
The gods ignore their kids. Hermes stayed away while Luke’s mother, May, struggled with what the Oracle’s curse did to her mind. Luke ran away at nine. He found Thalia, then a seven-year-old Annabeth, and became their big brother. He gave Annabeth his knife. Then he watched Thalia fall at the camp border and turn into a pine tree.
I type him ENFJ. Extraverted feeling is the people sense, and Luke always knows what a person needs to hear. He welcomes a scared twelve-year-old Percy into the Hermes cabin, trains him and makes him feel at home. Later he uses the same skill to recruit unclaimed demigods for Kronos. The charm is not fake. It is pointed in a terrible direction.
His intuition gives him a story about the future, and the story is simple: Olympus has to fall. Once he believes it, every betrayal becomes a step forward. He steals the master bolt and the Helm of Darkness, hands Percy flying shoes that nearly drag Grover into Tartarus, poisons Thalia’s tree and lets Chiron take the blame.
The engine underneath is type 4, the conviction that he was left out of something everyone else received. Fours keep asking why they are the one without the love, the place, the father. His failed quest for a golden apple, the scar Ladon left on his face, the pity he felt from other campers afterward, all of it feeds the same wound. He does not want a throne for its own sake. He wants the gods to feel what he felt.
Which is why his ending lands. When Kronos goes after Annabeth from inside Luke’s body, Luke takes control back and strikes his own weak point with the knife he once gave her. Dying, he admits the unrecognised kids had a point about the gods, and Percy turns that into his wish on Olympus. On Disney+, Charlie Bushnell becomes main cast in season two.
Could he be ENTJ? He does run an army. But an ENTJ tends to treat people as resources, and Luke never stops caring about specific faces: Thalia, Annabeth, even Percy. His is a feeler’s tragedy. He loved a few people so much that he decided to burn down the world that hurt them.

- Uses charm to manipulate
- Lets despair make his choices
In relationships
Luke's flaw in relationships is his flaw everywhere: he cannot let a hurt go. Hermes failed him, so every god becomes guilty. Losing Thalia broke something in him, and his request in The Battle of the Labyrinth that Annabeth run away with him shows how badly he still wants the scrappy little family he had on the road.
He needs people who can hold his anger without feeding it. Thalia cared about him and still refused him on Mount Othrys, which is the kind of no he needed earlier. Annabeth never stopped believing he could come back, and in the end she was right. Chiron, the teacher who watched him grow up, is the father figure he should have leaned on harder.
