Frequently asked questions
How the quizzes work, what the types mean, how points and privacy work, and where the images come from. Can’t find your answer? Ask us.
The quizzes
How do the quizzes work?
You answer 12 or 13 everyday situations (the personality type test has 28 questions), nothing about trivia. Every answer gives points to one to three characters. The character with the most points is your result, and ties are broken at random. You do not need to know the show to get a fair result, but the character profiles contain spoilers.
Is every character reachable?
Yes. We simulate thousands of random answer paths for every quiz and tune the points until each character wins between 5% and 12% of the time, so no single character swallows the results.
How accurate are the results?
They are for fun and for thinking about how you act, not a psychological assessment. Treat a result as a conversation starter, not a diagnosis.
Can I take a quiz again and get a different result?
Yes. Answer differently and you may land on another character. Your My results page keeps the latest result for each quiz.
Personality types
Is this the official MBTI?
No. We use four-letter “MBTI-style” types as a common language to describe personalities. MBTI and Myers-Briggs are trademarks of their owners, and this site is not affiliated with them. Our own test is called the personality type test (MBTI-style).
Why does another site give a character a different type?
Fictional characters have no official type. Readers weigh the same behaviour differently, so two good arguments can end in two types. Every profile explains our reasoning and the best case for a different type, and you can tell us whether you agree with the “Do you agree with this type?” vote.
What is the Enneagram number on the profiles?
The Enneagram describes what a person is afraid of and chasing, on a scale of nine types. MBTI-style types describe how someone thinks and decides. Read the Enneagram guide and the type guide for the basics.
Your results, points and privacy
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up. Your results, badges and points are stored in your browser.
Where are my results saved? Will I lose them?
In your browser’s local storage on this device. They do not follow you to another phone or browser, and clearing the site data in your browser removes them.
How do points, badges and levels work?
You get 10 points for each quiz you finish, 10 for each badge (20 for the secret ones), 2 for each vote on a character’s type, 3 for each match-up vote, 3 for each rating, 5 for each share (up to 10 shares), 5 for each friend challenge you take, 10 for downloading your personal card and 2 for each day you visit (up to 30 days). Levels are Rookie, Fan (60 points), Superfan (160), Expert (320), Legend (600) and Mythic (1000). See your progress on My results.
How does the leaderboard work? Is it fair?
Pick a nickname on My results and your points appear on the leaderboard. Our server checks every activity and calculates the points and badges itself, so scores are not typed in by players. Only your nickname is public. It is meant for fun, not for prizes.
How do I delete my data?
Use “Clear my results” on My results to remove your results, badges and points from this browser, and “Delete my nickname and leaderboard data” (under “How you earned them”) to remove your nickname and records from our server. More details are in the Privacy Policy.
Do you use cookies, analytics or ads?
The site may show ads and use analytics, with your consent where the law requires it. Read the Cookie Policy and the Privacy Policy for what is used and how to opt out.
Votes, ratings and comparisons
How are ratings and votes counted?
Each browser can rate a character once and vote once per question. An average is shown only after 5 people have rated, and we never add made-up votes.
What is the Compare tool?
Pick any two characters on Compare to see their types side by side, where they differ, and vote on who wins the match-up.
Images and copyright
Where do the character images come from?
We show small images of the characters we write about, only to identify them next to our own commentary, and we credit the rights holder. All franchise names, characters and images belong to their owners, and this is a fan-made site that is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. Details are on the Copyright page.
I own an image and want it removed.
Email us through the Contact page with the page address and we will take it down within 48 hours. You do not need to send a formal notice.
About the site
Can I suggest a franchise or a character?
Yes, please do. Send it through the Contact page. We add franchises and quizzes in batches and pick the ones readers ask for most.
I found a mistake in a profile.
Tell us on the Contact page with the profile and what is wrong. We check the story, fix errors and keep the details in our editorial policy.
Who writes the profiles?
The profiles are written under the pen name Juno Park and checked against the stories before they are published. Read more on the About page.
