Toph Beifong grew up as the fragile blind daughter of a rich family that kept her hidden from the world. At night she was sneaking out to win underground earthbending tournaments as the Blind Bandit. If you want one detail that explains her, it is that double life. Other people spent her childhood deciding she was helpless, so she became the strongest person in every room. That is an Eight with a 7 wing: someone who fears being controlled or seen as weak and armors up with strength and bluntness. The 7 wing is the fun-seeking streak, which is why the scams in “The Runaway” delight her so much.
She types as an ESTP, and extraverted sensing is almost literal for her. She sees through vibrations in the ground, feels heartbeats to tell when someone is lying, and reacts to the world in real time faster than anyone else in the show. Trapped in a metal box in “The Guru,” she does not panic. She reasons that metal is earth with the impurities refined out, feels for the bits of earth still inside, and invents metalbending on the spot. That practical, private logic is introverted thinking doing its job.
Her softer side lives in a function she hides well. She shows care through teasing and nicknames: Sugar Queen, Snoozles, Twinkle Toes. She rarely stops to think about deeper meaning until someone makes her, and the quiet talk with Iroh in “Tales of Ba Sing Se” is one of the few times she lets anyone see her cry.
Her growth is about letting people in. She learns that accepting help is different from being babied, and by the end of “The Runaway” she lets Katara help her write a letter home. In the finale she fights alongside Sokka and Suki as a teammate, still loud, still cocky, a lot less alone. Some fans type her ISTP, since she ran away to do things her own way and hates being managed. That is fair. Still, Toph wants an audience. She showboats at Earth Rumble, picks fights for fun, and pulls energy from the crowd, which is extraverted through and through.

In relationships
If Toph gives you a nickname, you are in. She will never say anything sappy, but she will show up in a fight and stay there. A punch in the arm is how she shows affection, and she means it as the highest compliment. In other words, she loves by roasting you.
Conflict with Toph is short and loud. She would rather yell it out than sulk, and she respects people who yell back. Her best matches are people who refuse to baby her: Sokka, whose bits she loves to pull apart, Aang, who needs her toughness, and Suki, who would be the warrior friend she always deserved.
