Aoi Todo personality type: ENFP

Aoi Todo judges every person by one question: what is your type of woman? Give a boring answer and he beats you up. Give the right answer, as Yuji does with a tall woman and a big backside, and Todo’s brain instantly writes years of memories they never shared. Tears, middle school, the works. By the end of the conversation they are best friends, at least according to Todo.

That fake history is the most ENFP thing in the series. His mind generates connections and possibilities faster than reality can keep up, which makes him a genius improviser in battle. Boogie Woogie lets him swap places with anything holding cursed energy at the clap of his hands, and he uses fake claps, real claps and pure confidence to keep enemies guessing.

Under the noise is a private value system with very odd rules. He worships the idol Takada-chan, he hates boredom, and he decides who deserves his respect without consulting anyone. He is a Seven with an Eight wing: sevens hunger for intensity and hate dullness, and Todo treats life like a stadium show. The wing is the swagger and the willingness to flatten Megumi the first time they meet. There is a teacher in him too. Fighting Hanami beside Yuji, he coaches him through Black Flash with blunt, practical advice and a lot of yelling. The sentimental streak about memories that are not even real fits the same man.

His best moment comes in Shibuya. Yuji has given up, kneeling in the rubble after losing Nanami and Nobara. Todo arrives, reminds him who he is, and fights Mahito beside him. He loses a hand and keeps going, finding another way to trigger his technique. Loyalty that absurd is hard not to love. It is also the clearest proof that the loud act is not an act: he means every word, every time, at full volume. Some fans call him ESFP, since he is physical and loud. It is a solid argument. Still, his greatest weapon is his imagination, from tactical bluffs to a whole invented friendship, and that points to intuition first.
