How do you type a thousand-year-old curse who eats people? Carefully, and with the lights on. Typing a monster is still typing, though, and Sukuna is surprisingly consistent.
Start with appetite. Sukuna is an ESTP, hungry for the present: food, violence, power, the thrill of a good fight. The first time he takes over Yuji’s body, he laughs at the moonlit city like it is a buffet. In Shibuya he toys with Jogo, invites him to bring everything he has, and enjoys every second. He does not dream about the future much. He devours what is in front of him.
What makes him terrifying instead of just loud is the cold precision. In the juvenile detention center he rips out Yuji’s heart so his host cannot take control back without dying, a hostage built from anatomy.
Later he tricks Yuji into a binding vow, Enchain, that hands him one minute of control and wipes the agreement from Yuji’s memory. Against Mahoraga he works out how the wheel of adaptation operates within a few exchanges, then finishes the shikigami with his domain and a fire arrow.
He is an easy Eight with a Seven wing. Eights cannot stand being controlled, and Sukuna spends the series as a prisoner in a kid’s body, testing the bars. The Seven wing is the hedonism, the grin, the joy of excess.
His people-reading is weaponized. He mocks Yuji’s guilt while it is still raw. Yet he also grants respect on his own terms. As Jogo burns away, Sukuna tells him he was strong, and the curse is moved to tears. One place shows something like patience: his strange interest in Megumi. For once, Sukuna has a plan, and he keeps it to himself.
He does not grow, and that is the point. He is the fixed weight Yuji keeps pushing against. Some fans make a good case for ENTJ, citing the long game with Megumi. I considered it. Still, Sukuna’s schemes always serve his next pleasure, and he improvises far more than he plans. Indulgence first, strategy second. That is ESTP.
Strengths
- Overwhelming confidence and raw power
- Reads opponents and adapts instantly
- Exploits rules and loopholes with precision
- Respects real strength when he sees it
- Never wastes a move on doubt
Weak spots
- Zero empathy for anyone he deems weak
- Cruelty purely for entertainment
- Arrogance that invites challengers
- Trapped and furious about it
In relationships
Sukuna does not do relationships. He has servants, toys and a vessel he despises. The only people who earn anything like respect are those who amuse him in a fight, which is why Jogo gets a rare compliment as he dies and why Megumi gets a level of interest that should scare everyone.
Conflict with Sukuna is less an argument than a demonstration. If you want matchups on this site, pick people who refuse to fold: Gojo, the strongest sorcerer of the modern era, Yuji, who keeps him caged through sheer stubbornness, and Megumi, whose potential fascinates him.
