Phoebe Buffay’s mother died by suicide, her stepdad went to prison, and she was living on the street at fourteen. She mentions all of this the way other people mention the weather. Then she picks up her guitar and sings about a cat with a hygiene problem.
That combination is a Seven’s survival trick: turn pain into stories and keep moving toward something lighter. Her 8 wing is the edge. She can be blunt, a little scary, and completely unbothered by what people think. In season nine we learn that, as a kid, she mugged a young Ross outside a comic book store, and she handles the reveal with total calm.
As an ENFP she connects things nobody else would connect. She suspects a stray cat holds her mother’s spirit, refuses to accept evolution just because Ross says so, and has a theory for almost everything. It looks random, but it is a mind that will not settle for the boring explanation.
Beneath the weirdness is a moral code she will not bend for anyone. She is a vegetarian who caves to meat cravings while carrying her brother’s triplets, and Joey offers to go vegetarian in her place so no extra animals die. She spends a whole episode trying to prove to Joey that a selfless good deed exists, and she will not drop it until she finds one. Carrying those triplets for Frank Jr. and Alice is the biggest version of that code: she gives her body to someone else’s dream and asks for nothing.
The unfinished past keeps tugging. She keeps searching for her father and her birth mother, as if the right memory could fill the gap. Her growth is about letting someone stay, which is hard for a kid who learned that people leave. With Mike she finally builds a home that is not temporary, and she marries him in the snow outside Central Perk. Plenty of fans call her INFP, pointing to her inner world and her songs. It is a decent case. Still, Phoebe performs, chats with strangers and leans into the weird out loud. Her ideas point outward.

In relationships
Her dating history runs from David the scientist, who leaves for Minsk, to a parade of strange boyfriends, and she does not apologize for any of it. Phoebe loves freely and on her own schedule. With Mike she finds a partner calm enough to enjoy her oddness and stubborn enough to keep up with it.
In conflict she is direct, sometimes too direct, and then she lets it go with a song. Her best matches are Mike, Joey, who shares her logic, and Rachel, her occasional roommate, who stays friends with her through every apartment disaster.
