Morticia Addams glides into Nevermore on Parents’ Weekend and owns the room in about four seconds. Old classmates whisper, teachers straighten their backs, and her daughter looks like she would prefer another piranha incident. The friction between those two drives a lot of the show, and it makes the most sense once you see Morticia as an ENFJ who reads everyone and cannot stop steering them. She knows how to make Larissa Weems uncomfortable with one smile. She knows when Gomez needs calming before he even knows it. She manages the emotional temperature of every space she enters, and she does it for the people she loves, whether they asked or not.
Behind the social grace sits a long view. Morticia sees where Wednesday is heading years in advance, and she tries to get there first and clear the road. Wednesday reads that as control, and she is not wrong. Morticia offers advice in the tone of a prophecy, which is a very ENFJ way to make a suggestion sound like fate. When Wednesday swears she will never become her mother, Morticia barely blinks. She has a plan for that too.
Her type is a 2 with a 3 wing. Twos love through involvement and need to be needed, and their blind spot is the belief that a secret kept for your own good is still a gift. The Garrett Gates story stays buried for decades. In season two it comes out that she cut off Isaac Night’s hand to save Gomez, and that the hand became Thing, a secret she and Gomez kept from the family. The 3 wing cares about the Addams name: the posture, the grace, the family that always looks perfectly sinister in public. Season two strains the bond further when she burns Goody Addams’s Book of Shadows, which Wednesday does not take well.
INFJ is the obvious rival read. She is composed, private and a little mysterious. Yet she draws energy from rooms, events and alliances rather than retreating from them, and in season two she stays close to Nevermore all year, taking on fundraising for the new principal. A true introvert would find that exhausting. Morticia finds it delicious.

In relationships
Morticia flirts in public, plans in private and never forgets a slight. She shows love by being present at the exact moment you hoped she would stay home, then by being right about what you needed. Her romance with Gomez is the most stable thing in the series, possibly because they both treat devotion like a competitive sport.
Gomez is her obvious match, the fire to her ice. Laurel Gates, in a darker universe, would be the dinner party rival she secretly respects. Larissa Weems is a frenemy for life: two strong-willed women who remember every old grudge from their dorm years.
