Here is the short version of Maki Zenin. She was born into one of the three great sorcerer clans with almost no cursed energy. She needs special glasses just to see curses. The Zenin clan treated that as a defect. She left, picked up a polearm, and became one of the most dangerous fighters at Tokyo Jujutsu High anyway.

The long version starts with what drives her. Maki is a Three with a Four wing, and her whole career is an answer to a family that called her worthless. On paper she is a grade 4 sorcerer, the bottom rung, and nobody in her family plans to help her climb. She keeps winning anyway, because results are the only argument the Zenin respect. The Four wing adds the outsider streak, the feeling of never fitting the mold she was born into. As an ISTP she reads every fight coldly and practically. She does not waste words on opponents, she studies them. At the Kyoto Goodwill Event, Miwa expects the weakling Mai described and loses her sword instead. Cursed tools, Playful Cloud, pure physical speed: she fights with whatever her body and hands can reach, and she lives in the moment.

Family is where the armor thins. When her twin Mai confronts her with years of resentment for leaving her behind, Maki wins the fight easily and handles the feelings far less well. Emotional conversations are not her terrain, and a stubborn sense of where she is headed does not help her explain it. In Shibuya she walks into Dagon’s domain with Nanami, Naobito and Megumi, watches Toji tear the curse apart, and is then badly burned by Jogo. It is a brutal stretch, and she is far from done. Nobody who has watched her train would bet against her recovery, least of all the family that wrote her off.

Many fans type her as an Eight because she is confrontational and fiercely independent. It is a fair read. Still, her anger always points at one goal: being acknowledged on her own terms. She wants to climb past the people who doubted her, and that is the Three core.
