Mahito’s first friend in the story is Junpei, a bullied teenager he meets at a movie theater. He listens, he teaches, he flatters. He talks about souls like a fascinated grad student. Then he turns Junpei into a lesson for Yuji, and you realize every warm moment was an experiment.
Think of him as the dark mirror of Gojo, an ENTP who treats the world as an open lab. Idle Transfiguration lets him reshape any soul he touches, and he never stops asking what else he could make. His theories are tidy: the soul comes before the body, so the body is just clay. He explains this to Junpei like a proud professor, and he tests it on strangers like a cruel one.
He is a Seven with an Eight wing. Sevens chase stimulation and novelty and keep away from boredom and pain. Mahito giggles through fights, toys with victims, and finds his own injuries fascinating. The Eight wing is the bully underneath, the joy of dominance.
Feelings are a tool for him. He reads resentment, loneliness and guilt in people and pours fuel on all three. What he lacks is a past: no roots, no attachments. He was born recently from humans’ hatred of each other, and he moves through life with nothing to anchor or slow him.
He grows, but only in power. Cornered by Yuji and Nanami at Junpei’s school, he reaches deep enough to expand his domain for the first time. In Shibuya he takes Nanami, then Nobara, and evolves again mid-fight against Yuji and Todo.
Mahito’s story ends in the dirt, which is a fitting place for something that never respected anything that lived there. Beaten and crawling away, he runs into the man wearing Geto’s body, who absorbs him with a smile.
A popular take types Mahito as ENFP, pointing to his insistence that he is only being true to his nature as a curse. That is worth hearing. Still, he rarely talks about what he feels. He talks about how souls work and what happens if you poke them. That detached, systems-first curiosity keeps him ENTP.
Strengths

- Reads emotional weak spots instantly
- Thrives under pressure and chaos
Weak spots

- No empathy, only fascination
- Overconfident until it is too late
- Lacks any anchor or loyalty
- Mistakes cruelty for cleverness
In relationships
Test subjects and coworkers: that is what Mahito has instead of friends. He plays at closeness with Junpei, then uses him to wound Yuji. Among the curses he is the gleeful little brother, teasing Jogo and Hanami and taking orders from the man in Geto's body until that man swallows him whole.
In conflict he gets giddy. Pain is information, and he loves information. Matchups worth reading: Yuji, his obsessive rival and mirror, Todo, who fights him with pure joy and no fear, and Nanami, the adult who saw exactly what he was from day one.
