Panda is not a panda. He is a cursed corpse built by Principal Masamichi Yaga, a puppet that woke up with its own personality, which makes him a one of a kind accident. You would think a being like that would spend his life brooding about what he is. Panda mostly wants to know whether everyone has eaten.
That tells you he is a Nine with a One wing. Nines want peace, inside and out, and Panda’s calm is his superpower. He never needs to be the center of the story, and he seems completely fine with that. The One wing gives him a quiet sense of right that comes out when friends are threatened.
I read him as an ESFJ, because he is tuned to the group. When Nobara meets the second years, Panda is the one translating Inumaki’s rice ball vocabulary so nobody feels lost. He teases Maki just enough to make her smile and never enough to start a fight. He is the social glue of his class, and he knows it.
Family and routine root him. Yaga is his dad, full stop. Inside his body live three cores, which Panda describes as himself, his big brother and his big sister, and he treats them like siblings rather than spare parts. The goofy side, the jokes, the poses, the unbothered shrug at being a talking panda in a school uniform world, sits on top of that.
He also shows a refreshing lack of overthinking. Panda never spirals over his own existence. Against Mechamaru at the Kyoto event, he takes a beating, swaps to his gorilla core, and lands the Drumming Beat, a punch that goes straight through a guard. Problem solved, no philosophy required. That easy relationship with himself is rarer than any cursed technique, and the whole class leans on it.
A fair argument says ENFP, given his playful, offbeat humor. I weighed it. Still, Panda’s first instinct in every scene is to check on the group and keep it working. The jokes serve the harmony, which is why the group relaxes the moment he walks in. Offbeat humor is the wrapping, and the care for the room is what is inside.

- Never needs the spotlight
Weak spots

- Can be too relaxed about real danger
- Goes along with plans he doubts
In relationships
The friend who keeps the group chat alive: that is Panda. He translates for Inumaki, teases Maki without crossing a line, and treats Yaga like a dad, because to him Yaga is one. His affection is easy and constant, and it makes everyone around him relax.
He dislikes conflict and handles it with jokes or a well-timed hug, though the gorilla core comes out when friends are threatened. Best matches: Maki, his closest classmate, Yuji, who matches his warmth, and Todo, whose noise he can absorb without breaking a sweat.
