Angela Martin runs the Party Planning Committee like a tribunal. She judges hemlines, music choices and anyone who brings store bought cookies. She is also the woman who carried on a secret affair with Dwight for years, right under the noses of the people she was judging. Hold on to both facts. The contradiction is the character. Ones live with a loud inner critic, and they hold the world to the same standard. Angela is a 1 with a 9 wing, and her judgment is not a performance. She believes most people are doing it wrong. The wing makes her cool and withdrawn rather than fiery: she does not yell, she freezes you out. Ones also repress what they want, and that is how you get a woman lecturing the office on propriety while sneaking into the warehouse with Dwight.
As an ISTJ, her lead function, introverted sensing, is about the proper way things have always been done. The Christmas party has a correct theme, the decorations have a correct color, and when Pam and Karen want something more fun, Angela treats it as a hostile takeover, which is how the office ends up with two rival parties in A Benihana Christmas. Extraverted thinking is the accountant in her: precise, efficient, unimpressed by excuses.
Her fierce private loyalties live in introverted feeling. Her cats get more tenderness than most humans ever see from her. When Dwight takes matters into his own hands with her sick cat Sprinkles, she ends the relationship, because that line was sacred. Extraverted intuition, her weakest function, shows up as fear of the unknown and the odd reckless leap, like marrying the senator and refusing to see what everyone else can see.
Her growth is messy. The senator’s affair with Oscar blows up her marriage, she loses her home, and she ends up sharing an apartment with Oscar, of all people. Then she admits that Phillip is Dwight’s son and marries him on the farm. For once she lets her life be untidy, and it is the happiest we ever see her. A good case says Angela is ESTJ, since she bosses the committee around. Still, she rules from behind her desk, not from the front of the room, and she recharges alone with her cats. That is introversion.

In relationships
Secrecy is Angela's love language. With Dwight she builds an entire hidden relationship of code names, warehouse meetings and strict rules, and even when she gets engaged to Andy, she cannot stay away. Her affection is rare, but when you have it, she will defend you like one of her cats.
In conflict she goes icy and keeps score. Her best matches are Dwight, who loves her rules as much as she does, Oscar, who becomes her unlikely roommate and ally, and Stanley, who never asks her to share her feelings.
