The Office personality types

A paper company in Scranton, a camera crew, and the most typeable coworkers ever filmed.

Take a The Office quiz

Be honest. You had The Office on in the background this week, maybe while reading this. NBC ran it for nine seasons, from 2005 to 2013, and it became the comfort show for a whole generation of people who also work at desks.

A documentary crew follows the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin, a paper company nobody would pick to film. What they find is a boss who wants to be loved, a salesman who wants to be feared, and a receptionist and a sales rep who take years to admit what everyone else can already see.

Desk jobs are great for spotting personality. With no monsters or wars around, all the drama comes from birthday cakes, the party planning committee and a stapler sealed in Jell-O. That is where people show who they are. Our profiles run through all nine seasons, and the finale does come up, so treat them as full of spoilers. Pick a coworker and see if the type fits.
