Clarisse La Rue introduces herself by trying to dunk the new kid’s head in a toilet. It goes badly. Percy’s water powers kick in, and she and her friends get blasted out of the bathroom. Most bullies would back off after that. Clarisse holds the grudge for years, and somehow you end up loving her for it. Even her weapons are a running joke: when her electric spear breaks, the replacement is called Maimer, and the whole camp quietly calls it Lamer.
She reads as ESTJ: direct, organised, loud about rules as long as they are her rules. She runs the Ares cabin like a military unit, commands a ship crewed by undead Confederate sailors in The Sea of Monsters, and treats every quest as a mission brief. Her default is decisive action backed by hard, practical logic. Asking for help feels like losing, so she almost never does, and that habit nearly gets her friends killed more than once.
Under the armour sits a type 3 problem: worth equals winning. Ares wants results, and Clarisse spends the series chasing approval from a god who measures love in victories. Ares does not want her to fail and hand the glory to Percy, whom he calls a slimeball. That is why the Fleece quest means so much to her, and why she gloats at Polyphemus until he hurls a boulder that sinks the Queen Anne’s Revenge. Image first, safety second. Threes can lose track of who they are under the performance.
Her best moments are the quiet ones. She nurses Chris Rodriguez, the boy she likes, after the Labyrinth breaks his mind. In The Last Olympian her cabin sits out the war over a chariot dispute, and her friend Silena dies wearing Clarisse’s armour to lead them in. Clarisse charges the drakon with no armour at all and kills it, earning her father’s blessing. Ares calls it the best drakon slaying he has seen. Some readers call her ESTP for the impulsiveness, but her pride runs on rank, structure and earned respect. On Disney+, Dior Goodjohn gets an expanded solo Fleece quest in season two.

In relationships
Clarisse shows affection the way her father shows anything: loudly, with a weapon nearby. Under that she is fiercely loyal. She nursed Chris Rodriguez through his madness, stuck up for Silena when it mattered, and slowly built a real friendship with Annabeth. Percy, the boy who beat her dad, gets grudging respect and not much else for years.
She needs people who are not scared of her and do not try to manage her. Thalia matches her energy and her temper. Annabeth respects her strategy and gives her a straight answer. Percy, irritatingly, keeps saving her life and handing her the credit, which turns out to be exactly the kind of rival she needs.
